Metamorphosierender Schmetterling

We got this for a rainy afternoon and the hands-on aspect really held my daughter’s attention for a solid hour. The way it walks through each stage of the butterfly’s life is clear enough that she could explain it back to me afterward.

My kids have been obsessed with watching the caterpillar slowly turn into a chrysalis and then emerge as a butterfly—the hands-on activity makes the whole process feel magical rather than just reading about it. The creative play aspect kept them engaged for over an hour straight.

We did this as a family project and it sparked so many questions from my kids about how caterpillars actually change. The hands-on activity kept them engaged the whole time, and I loved that we could watch the whole process together over a few weeks.
