Jardin de sable tournant | KiwiCo

My son and I wired it together in about an hour, and the magnetic gears are surprisingly smooth—the metal ball traces these hypnotic spiral patterns through the sand that never repeat the same way twice. It's become our evening wind-down ritual.

I was half expecting a gimmick, but wiring the magnetic gears together was genuinely fun, and watching the balls carve fresh paths through the sand every minute keeps me staring longer than I'll admit. The hidden mechanism makes it feel like the pattern is deciding for itself.

The wooden rakes glide through the sand so smoothly it's almost hypnotic—I've caught myself just staring at the patterns for ten minutes straight. Assembly took a bit of patience, but the reward is watching the balls carve new lines every single pass.
